New toys

Before we came out to NY, I wanted to make Isla some toys to play with that were soft and plush. I had some patterns I wanted to try out but hadn't had the time before, so since I no longer had a job and would only have my sewing machine around for mere days, I decided to try to put them together in the few days before we came out here.

One is a simple ball, no real pattern, just sewn pieces together to make a ball.

The other is a puzzle ball that was much more involved to put together. I got the pattern from the Purl Patchwork sewing book. It really was so fun and rewarding in the end. You make 12 wedges, stuff them, and then hand sew them together at the points. I really love the finished product.

Isla hasn't quite gotten the point of either of them yet, but I'm sure as she gets older she'll figure them out!
