The Diversity of Life...

Some things have happened this week that are just crazy when it comes to the variety of life on this planet. I am always amazed at the fascinating things that are discovered all the time all over the world.

First, I don't know how many of you heard about the prehistoric shark that was found off the coast of Japan this week, but you have got to take a look at this little clip from Reuters. It is called a frilled shark and is extremely primitive, having not evolved far from it's prehistoric roots like most mammals have by this day and age.
Second, a 27 year old Cambodian woman emerged from the jungle on January 13th after being 'lost' in the jungle for nearly twenty years! The villagers saw her walking around like a money, thus nicknaming her the 'jungle woman', and captured her in order to identify her. Her parents identified her from a scar as their daughter who disappeared in 1988 while tending water buffalo. She can't talk and she is extremely wary of all human contact. Recently, they say she is relaxing and trying to communicate again. It is CRAZY that this sort of thing still happens. It's not crazy that an young girl could disappear in the jungle, but what is really crazy is that she came back after almost two decades!

Wow, those are amazing stories. You are so knowledgable :)

That's why I seriously believe that the Loch Ness monster exists...maybe it's like a prehistoric shark!
