Four!

This month has come and gone in with a few fun developments.  They always say you hit a big milestone when they are three months, but in Loïe's case I think it's more like 4 months when she's started to become more of a baby and less of a newborn.

She had her second ear infection...woohoo.  It's been hard to make progress with her when she's so sick and cranky all the time.  

The doctor did assure me that she wasn't teething, but geez, she is constantly gnawing away at her fists.

The day before Valentine's Day she made 2 big accomplishments.  

1) She started rolling over! (Front to back)

2) She started grabbing her feet.  

The feet-grabbing thing is pretty exciting because it means she's getting so much better at controlling her hands.  Any steps closer to controlling her hands means less time having to be swaddled so tightly at night which means longer sleep times.

Speaking of sleep... there still isn't too much of it.  Last week I was at my wits end after dealing with Loïe not sleeping longer than 3 hours at a time and Isla waking up multiple times for multiple days in a row because of fever and vomit.  I was this close to hiring someone to come and sleep train her for me, but with Bart's help at night, and my mom's help during the day, I was able to catch up on some sleep.   At least enough to start thinking about sleep training Loïe myself and getting her on a routine.  It's a very basic routine that mostly just includes going to bed at the same time, only feeding her every 4-5 hours at night, and trying to stick to 3 naps a day.  We're not great at it, but hey this is my first time having to actually train a baby.

One thing that made me pretty happy but wasn't an actual milestone, was that she made it through this last bout of sickness unscathed!  What a trouper! The nastiest flu ever, and pink eye, and she made it through without getting sick at all.

She's started to sit in her bumbo yesterday and I'm thrilled.  One more position to diversify her day.  Sometimes I feel sorry for babies.  If they didn't know any better, it would be sooo boring going from sleep to feeding to laying on the floor and back again.

Oh, and she's started to blow bubbles too!  Tooooo cute.  I just love her.

We went to the doctor today, so here are her stats.

length: 24 in (38%)

weight: 12 lbs 7.5 oz (23%)

head: 42 cm (75%)  She's like an orange on a toothpick!
